Understanding the Crisis
Domestic violence is a silent epidemic affecting thousands of families across Texas. It doesn’t discriminate—impacting people of all backgrounds, races, and income levels. Many survivors feel trapped, not knowing where to turn for help. The numbers paint a stark picture of the crisis we must address.
The Reality of Domestic Violence in Texas
40.1% of Texas women and 34.9% of Texas men will experience intimate partner violence in their lifetime.
In 2022, 179 women in Texas lost their lives due to domestic violence.
Texas domestic violence hotlines receive more than 77,000 calls a year, a cry for help that cannot be ignored.
